Actor Karthi is apparently basking over the success of his latest venture ‘Siruthai’ opposite the ravishing Tamannaah. On a promotion tour to promote the film, Karthi landed up in Coimbatore on the other day and watched the film at a prominent theatre along with his fans.
While speaking to the audience in the theatre during the interval break, Karthi said he was very happy to have delivered his 5th successive hit film after ‘Paruthiveeran’, ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’, ‘Paiyaah’ and ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’. Immediately a person from the crowd took Karthi by surprise by saying that he didn’t think that besides ‘Paruthiveeran’, all other movies were very ordinary performance and nothing to boast about.
Karthi retorted saying that all the movies did ‘reasonably well’ at the box-office. Another member in the audience made a remark that Karthi became famous within a short span of time just because he’s the son of a star (actor Sivakumar). This apparently irritated Karthi beyond the limit and his reply was quick and curt.
“It’s a wrong notion that an actor’s son has it easy in the industry. In my case, I worked for many years as an assistant director before making the grade as the hero. Whom so ever it is, only hardwork gets you success and stardom. Just because you’re an actor’s son, it doesn’t mean that all your films would be superhits; it’s wrong to talk like that,”replied Karthi with much anger and emotion.
