Actor Karan hasn’t had a release for many months now. His last release was the forgettable dud ‘Kanagavel Kakka’. If anything, the film marked the entry of Sandalwood’s Haripriya as heroine in Kollywood. Though he seems to be working in more than one film at any given time, there has been considerable gap between his last film and the next film.
Ask him what’s the reason and pat comes the reply that it’s nothing but part of his strategy to counter ‘competition’ in the industry. He sure knows the art of surviving in the industry for close to 20 years now. It was only for the past few years that has been playing the hero and solo roles. He is now eagerly awaiting his next release in ‘Thambi Vettothi Sundaram’ .
“I’m quite happy to be starring in Thambi Vettothi Sundaram which is based on a real-life story where I play a character who had been hailed as a ‘messiah’ of sorts. I have put in a lot of hard work like change in body language, delivery of dialect, etc. so as to match the region (Kanniyakumari) where the story is set. I admit there’s been a long interval in between the release of my films but it’s mainly because of my honest attempt to ensure that all the roles I play are different from each other.
“I would disappear into thin air within no time if I continue to play the same kind of roles film after film. I, therefore, take my own time in deciding as to which roles to accept and which ones to refuse. After taking on a role, I do a lot of homework to ensure that my role in it shapes up very well. Presently, all my energies and thoughts are focused on the release of ‘TVS’ where Anjali is my heroine. I’m sure the film would do wonders for my career,” concludes Karan.
