Actor Karan, who had been lying low for the past few months, is ready with his upcoming film titled Sooran. The film has been produced by Arovana Pictures and has directors-turned-actors Manivannan, Santhana Barathy, Raj Kapoor and Ponvannan playing significant roles. Besides the quartet, the film has ‘Pithamagan’ fame Mahadevan, ‘Ayan’ Jegan, Nellai Siva, Parvathi and Sathish as part of the cast.
Karan has a couple of heroines in Anu and Shefali Sharma in the film. The film’s script is about a commoner named Sadha a.k.a. Sooran, a resident of the narrow lanes of Chennai’s notorious North Chennai. The sequences in the film have been narrated and filmed in the most natural manner, retaining Chennai’s nativity at all the time.
Despite having two stunning-looking girls as heroines, Karan would have to contend with the ‘hard truth’ that he would neither have any romantic sequences nor any duet songs with either of the two. The film’s script is all about how Sooran, who wanders around in a carefree manner, is jolted back into reality by some events which have elements of truth and justice in them.
Director Balu Narayanan has himself penned the lyrics of the film along with lyricist Yugabarathy. Talking about the film, Balu informs us that the film’s shooting has been held in various places such as Chennai’s crowded Burma Bazaar, Koyambedu Market, Vyasarpadi and in Kutralaml, Sengottai and Sundarapandiapuram. The film has music by Balaji while Saleem takes care of the editing assignment.
‘Thalapathy’ Dinesh is the action choreographer while Manoj, ‘Rock’ Shankar and Selvaraghu would be the dance choreographers of the film which is likely to be released by the year-end.
