Jayam Ravi celebrated his birthday over the weekend in the city. He was wished by his contemporaries, friends, family and relatives. Ravi, a successful hero for the past few years, has been adapting his own style and hasn’t been aping any popular hero. As such, he has a huge number of fans among the youths and children.
When Ravi debuted in ‘Jayam’ more than six years back, there were many who cast aspersions on the possibility of his survival in the industry saying that a hero, who doesn’t sport a moustache, would never make it big in films. As it turned out later, Ravi has delivered more hits than many other popular heroes in the past six years.
Ravi’s latest film was the Prabhudeva-directed ‘Engeyum Kaadhal’ opposite Hansika. A musical love story, the film did reasonably well at all centres. His present project is Ameer’s ‘Aadhibagawan’ opposite Neetu Chandra. The film has been in the making for a long time and Ravi had to shave off the long-beard he had grown for the film’s shoot to star in ‘Engeyum Kaadhal’ early this year!
He is slated to star in S.P. Jananathan’s next film along side Jiiva. The last time Ravi worked with Jananathan, he starred in the critically acclaimed ‘Peraanmai’.
Speaking on the eve of his birthday, Ravi said “I’m very happy that many of my friends in the industry remembered to call me on this particular day to wish me a happy birthday. These wishes motivate me to continue to seek greater heights in acting and to achieve a lot. I can’t thank my fans more; the only way of thanking them in a befitting manner, I feel, is by giving quality films which they would enjoy!”
