An NRI based in London, actor-producer-director Jai Akash is keen to make his mark in Tamil films. The actor has done quite a few films in Tamil, including one against top heroine Simran but somehow recognition has eluded him. Forgetting the past, he is back with his next venture ‘Ayudha Porattam’.
The film’s audio was released a couple of days ago in Chennai. The function was attended by director Samuthirakkani and music director Vijay Antony (said to be close pals of Aakash) and many others. The film has Jai playing dual roles; he has also penned the story, screenplay and dialogues of the film besides directing it.
As amply suggested by the title, the film is an action-packed one shot mostly in Thailand. With the help of the Thai Army, the crew managed to shoot in dense and dangerous jungles to make the sequences appear as realistic as possible. The film is likely to stir a debate among the critics as it deals with the Tamil nationalism, a long-forgotten word.
The film has been produced by Jai Balaji Movie Makers, which produced Aakash’s earlier venture ‘Kaadhalan Kaadhali’ too. The producer was all praise for Aakash for sticking to the ‘original budget’ and completing the film perfectly within the stipulated time-frame and thanked him for the same.
We can only wish that Aakash courts the much-needed success at the box-office at least with this film, which is said to be a tale of ‘emotional struggle’ between two Tamil youths (one Sri Lankan Tamil and the other an Indian Tamil, both played by Aakash). The film is likely to hit the screens the soon with an ‘A’ certification awarded by the Censor Board.
