Popular Mollywood actor Jagathy Sreekumar has been recovering well post his surgery. Being part of more than a 1,000 films as a comedian, he made his Kollywood debut through the 2005 film Aadum Koothu. The news of the actor severely injured in a car accident came as a shock to his fans around the globe.
On March 10th,a Saturday morning, the actor was on his way from Thrissur to Coorg in Karnataka to shoot for an upcoming flick, when caught in a terrible mishap. His Innova car rammed into the divider at Panambra near the Calicut University campus leaving the 62 year old badly injured. The driver escaped with minor injuries. Jagathy was rushed to the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences where he was on ventilator support for at least 24 hours as doctors observed his lung condition improve. Out from the critical stage, they recently carried out a 7 hour long surgery on Tuesday night. The doctors treated the multiple injuries sustained to his hip, thighs and shoulder bones. “The surgery went off well and he is recovering strongly”, says P.P. Venugopal, who has been keeping a close eye on the actor’s health. Jagathy’s blood pressure has come back to normal as family members and people from the industry have been dropping in to enquire about his condition.
