Stylish and ageing Kollywood star Jackie Shroff debuted in Tamil films with last year’s Aaranya Kandam, a gangster flick which was shot innovatively and stylishly. The film didn’t fare that well at the box-office as expected by the film’s makers and the crew. As such, Jackie has landed up his second chance in Tamil films be bagging the coveted villain’s role in superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kochadaiyaan.
The camaraderie and bonhomie between Rajini and Jackie has been in existence ever since they starred together in the Hindi film Uttar Dakshin which had Madhuri Dixit as the heroine. Back in Tamil Nadu to shoot for the animated film Kochadaiyan, Jackie now feels athat he suits the bill best when it comes to playing the on-screen villain opposite Rajini.
Jackie adds that his fans would realize how true his statmetn was when they watched Kochadaiyan which also has Aadhi, Sarath Kumar, Nasser, Deepika Padukone, Rukmani Vijayakumar and Shobana as the other stars associated with the film. Jackie is said to be playing the main villain’s role in the film, which is progressing rapidly at this very moment in Trivandaum, Kerala.
“Rajini Ji has always been one of my best friends…I’m extremely delighted at the prospect of sharing screen-space with him after many years. I’m also happy that I’m starring in a Tamil film again; Rajini is a very good actor and nobody even comes close to him in comparison. It was while our fight sequences were being shot in London that I realzed that I’m the best villain to Rajini,” concludes Jackie.
