Versatile Prakash Raj has said that he came into films mainly to earn name and fame and not for the purpose of earning money. The actor, who has very few peers to compare with him in terms of versatility, was felicitated at a grand function held in Hyderabad in which popular film-maker Dasari Narayanarao took part as the chief guest. Actors Siddharth and Sunil presented the memento jointly to Prakashraj.

Speaking at the event, Dasari said “I have been watching Prakashraj from close quarters for the past two decades now. I have watched all the films produced by him right from Duet. Prakashraj is an invaluable gem which has been presented to the world of films by veteran diretor K. Balachander who introduced him in films. Prakshraj has the versatility to excel in all kinds of roles.”

In his speech wherein he acknowledged all the accolades, Prakashraj said “When I was in School and in College, I was hardly noticed. I starred in a play in college and was appreciated by many. The applause which I received on that day has made me an actor today. I’m into films not to earn money but mainly to earn name, fame and popularity and the accolades that come through that.

“Nobody knows for sure what fate has in store for us tomorrow. Though we can’t foresee things in advance, we can plan so that certain things don’t occur. I’m extremely indebted to K. Balachander Sir for giving me an opening in films. Film-makers like Krishna Vamsi, Puri Jagannath, Trivikram, Gunasekar and Vinayak offered perfect fodder to me by offering my all kinds of roles to whom I shall remain indebted,”concluded Prakashraj.
