Her debut film in Telugu ‘Anaganaga O Dheerudu’ opposite Siddharth is scheduled to release on Pongal eve. When asked as to what was the reason behind her success in more than one field, the humble Shruti admits that she owes everything to her parents. Born to Sarika, the erstwhile second wife of Kamal Haasan, Shruti has inherited Sarika’s flawless beauty and acting talents.
“I learnt the art forms at the behest of my father’s encouragement and the discipline from my mother who used to be very strict. Even my father won’t spare me if I behave irresponsibly or in an undisciplined manner. As a result, it’s always at the back of my mind to lead a life sans any criticism from others,” says Shruti.
Shruti admits that she had always dreamt of becoming an actress. “Among singing, composing, lyric-writing and acting, without doubt acting remains my most-favourite art form. Composing music is not a very easy job, though.”
“I always ensure that I get a good night’s sleep which could be the reason for the ‘glow’ in my face, pointed out by many. I completely avoid food made of rice.”
“I would request the public not to rate me as Kamal’s daughter. That would only add to my responsibilities and make me prone to pressure to succeed at any cost. Coming back to fitness, I even avoid sugar,” says Shruti, who has an enviable hour-glass figure.
Asked if Kamal would provide her his ideas or inputs to improve her acting credentials, all she said was ‘No way!’.
