Whether she is busy with her film projects or not, hottie Namitha is always busy inaugurating some textile showroom or jewellery store. The actress, who had been the ‘indisputable’ queen of hearts of Tamil audiences not so long ago, fell out of favour with producers and directrs and ultimately with her fans due to her tendency of putting on oodles of flesh around her waist.
Sizzler Namitha, however, doesn’t appear to have lost on the eagerness prevalent among menfolk to have a ‘look’ at her. This was visible when she was in Ganapathy, Coimbatore yesterday to inaugurate a showroom. After waving to the fans incessantly for a few minutes and letting out many ‘flying kisses’ on air besides addressing them as ‘Machans’, Namitha spoke to the presspersons who had assembled at the venue.
“Coimbaore is a city which I love most in Tamil Nadu. I have visited this city as many as 40 times in the past eight years (she’s certainly good with the numbers!). The place I like most in this city is the Race Course locality. Every time I’m here, I don’t miss out in visiting the place. Even in future, I’d keep on visiting this city many a time.
“I’m not in a position to seek a ‘status’ in films. I have earned enough fame and popularity and want to earn the tag of a ‘substantial actress’ and am looking for roles like the one I played I Parthipan’s Pachakudhirai. I also loved Aae opposite Sarath Kumar. Billa opposite Ajith Kumar was a turning point in my career. I’m presently concentrating in Kannada films.
“I love all my co-stars and can’t single out any one as ‘Mr. Nice’. All my co-stars have so far offered me their best possible cooperation and I earnestly hope it continues in future too,” concludes Namitha.
