A.R. Rahmans adult contemporary track titled ‘Satyameva Jayate’ is sending cool airwaves across radio stations internationally, with the legendary Mick Jagger ‘Sanskrit croons’ bringing something ever so special. Rahman composed the single Satyameva Jayate on the request of the rest of his band members who insisted they wanted Rahman’s voice for the song. The result was a ‘Super Heavy’ track, so much so that it has caught the attention of a guy named Rajan Zed, who is the President of Universal Society of Hinduism. Rajan representing the Hindu society has expressed his joy and delight (not so much for Rahman’s beautiful composition and neither for his wonderful rendition of Satyameva Jayate but ) for Rolling Stone vocalist – Mick Jagger’s attempt in singing in Sanskrit. Mr. Rajan feels that the popularity of Sanskrit will help everyone in leading the life of spiritually far from the materialistic thirst.
He even had a ‘big’ chunk of advice for Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Madonna, AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen, Britney Spears, Beyonce Knowles and the ruling Top 40 performers, as a proud Mr.Rajan urged them to record their future tracks in Sanskrit. For all those latecomers ‘Satyameva Jayate’ happens to be Isai Puyal A.R.Rahman second single release from his international collaboration Super Heavy-a super group that derives its name from renowned boxer Muhammad Ali, and has an equally befitting heavyweight package, in Rock and Roll icon Mick Jagger, the very soulful diva Joss Stone, Bob Marley’s son – Damian “Jr Gong” Marley, and Eurythmics founder Dave Stewart alongside ‘Boss’ – A.R.Rahman.
Now just imagine Jay-Z rapping away in Sanskrit, now that’s what we call a killer idea.
