The audio-launch of actor-director R. Parthiban’s upcoming venture Vithagan was held in the city on the other day. It was attended by many leading heroines and luminaries of the film industry. The event was held at the Sathyam Cinemas, which has of late become the most favourite spot of Kollywood to host its audio-launchs.
After a long time, Parthiban gets into the shoes of a director and has directed the film besides playing the lead role of a cop. The film has Poorna as his heroine. Joshua Sridhar has composed the music while Parthiban himself has penned the lyrics in the film. Besides his film-making instincts, Parthiban has always been seen as a ‘creator’ of socially relevant songs and verses.
Actresses Sneha, Dhansika, Amy Jackson, Madhumita, Iniya and Rohini took part in the event and accepted the audio-cassettes and CDs of the film from the chief guests namely directors Gautham Vasudev Menon, Thangar Bachchan, Ameer and Vasanthabalan and actor Vivek. The function was a grand affair with many stars and leading technicians of the Tamil film industry gracing the occasion.
The actresses who accepted the cassettes and CDs said they were ‘deeply impressed’ by the songs of the film. Others who took part at the function included directors Cheran, Vetrimaran, Lingusamy and Suseendhiran besides lyricist Na Muthukumar and Prof. Gnanasambandam.
Popular music director Harris Jayaraj, who has scored the background music, was appreciated and honoured by Parthiban and producer Manickam Narayanan.
