Hansika Motwani seems to be going places. The 19-year gorgeous girl, who has become the hottest sensation in Kollywood even before a single release in Tamil is all set to play heroine opposite Udhayanidhi Stalin, for his maiden hero flick ‘Nanbenda’. Director Rajesh who has a back-to-back romantic-comedy hits (Siva Manasula Sakthi (SMS) and Boss Engira Bhaskaran (BEB)) will be directing this film. The movie was named after ‘Nanbenda’, a phrase he had earlier coined for his movie Boss Engira Bhaskaran.
For Hansika this will be the fourth Tamil film who is already looking forward to three interesting line up of releases ‘Velayudham‘ with Vijay, ‘Maappillai’ with Dhanush and ‘Engeyum Kadhal’ with ‘Jayam’ Ravi, this year(2011).
Disclosing details of Nanbenda Hansika says, “It’s true. I have signed up for Nanbaenda. The film directed by Rajesh will have Udhayanidhi in the lead role. Rajesh and Udhayanidhi came to Mumbai and narrated the story which was very interesting. I immediately signed the film without second thought. I’m very happy to be working with this team, which I’m sure will make a wonderful movie”.
Director Rajesh on confirming this news said, “As the story demands a North Indian-looking girl, we decided to rope in Hansika. I can’t reveal anything further but I can assure you I will not move away from my core strength, which is making feel-good films.”
About earlier rumours of Shruti Haasan being considered for the heroine role, Rajesh said, “We had approached her but it did not work out due to date hassles. Now, I think Hansika is the right choice.”
Needless to say, the actress is excited about the series of interesting projects coming her way and is confident that the year belongs to her. “I’m so excited and have great films to look forward to this year.” she says.
While her Prabhu Deva directed Engeyum Kaadhal opposite Jayam Ravi is slated for the Valentine’s weekend, Maapillai with Dhanush is slotted for April. Velayudham, her film with Vijay, is due in June and Nanbenada should release by August.
Kollywood trade analysts are of the opinion that Hansika would rule Tamil cinema in 2011 as she has four big and promising projects coming up for release in the next six months with top stars, technicians and big banners.
