Bubbly beauty Hansika Motwani is delighted at the response of the audience to her Deepavali release Velayudham. In the film, Hansika is paired as one of Vijay’s two heroines along with Goan girl Genelia D’Souza. The film, a mass entertainer directed by ‘Jayam’ Raja, has become a hit with Vijay’s fans and movie-goers and has been doing rather well at the box-office.
Hansika is at last happy to be part of a hit film. Both her earlier films in Mappillai and Engeyum Kaadhal, hadn’t managed to scorch the box-office. While Maappillai was a complete no-show, Engeyum Kaadhal did a pretty decent business though it wasn’t declared a hit film. Hansika has a couple of films in Tamil which are promising enough to become hit films.
She is presently shooting for the final stages of Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (OKOK) opposite producer-distributor Udhayanidhi which is being directed by Rajesh of Siva Manasula Sakthi and Bas Engira Baskaran fame.
She has also been roped in by Simbu to pair up opposite him in his upcoming film Vettai Mannan, it is said. Hansika is quite sure OKOK would provide her an ideal platform to be considered as an actress of substance in Kollywood.
The pretty Sindhi girl concedes that she is not averse to doing two-heroine subjects like Velayudham. She has also signed up a Telugu film titled Oh My Friend in which she is paired up opposite Siddharth. The film also has the stunning Shruti Haasan as the other heroine. “I have no qualms in doing two-heroine subjects al all. My only pre-condition before taking up such films is that my character in the film should be a substantial one,” says Hansika with her trademark flooring smile.
