She was hailed as the next ‘Khushboo’ when she debuted in Tamil early last year. Bubbly and pretty Hansika (she doesn’t want her surname ‘Motwani’ added to her name) is going places in Kollywood at a good pace. After her debut vehicle in Engeyum Kaadhal opposite ‘Jayam’ Ravi, she had a failure in Dhanush-starrer Maappillai but recovered some lost ground throught the Vijay-starrer Velayudhaam.
Said to be the toast of Kollywood, Hansika is hopeful that her upcoming film Oru Kal Oru Kannadi (OKOK) opposite producer-turned-actor Udhayanidhi and direted by Rajesh does well at the box-office. OKOK is releasing next Friday on the eve of Tamil New Year and given Rajesh’s reputation of making his films in an entertaining manner, observers point out that OKOK might also turn out to be a hit venture.
Hansika is also roped in by Simbu to play one of the two heroines in his upcoming film Vettai Mannan (Deeksha Seth of Rajapattai fame is said to be the other heroine). Hansika, who has shed oodles of flesh as compared to last year and looks extremely slim, is busy with her many Telugu projects too.
She assures OKOK would be a family entertainer and would be loved by all sections of the audience. “I have been told many a time that I look like Khushboo when she came into films more than a couple of decades back. More than looking like her, I’d surely love to earn the name, fame and the kind of respect that Khushboo has managed to win from Tamil audienes and fans. In fact, I’m working towards it,” says Hansika.
