Director Saravanan’s debut flick Engeyum Eppodhum turned out to be 2011’s sleeper hit with its universal message of safe driving. The movie was also the first production venture by Fox Star Studios who joined hands with Kollywood’s very own A. R. Murugadoss. It traced the bus journeys of two different couples, with Jai and Anjali playing one pair and Ananya and Sharvanand the other.
Not many know that director Saravanan himself gained his expertise working as an assistant under Murugadoss himself. Now with their movie becoming a big hit and even talks of it being remade in Hindi by Aamir Khan, here comes a welcome surprise. There is news that the Human Rights Organization of Paramakudi has decided to bestow Saravanan with a prestigious award for using the opportunity as a platform for spreading a noble message. His neat and gripping manner of handling the script and smoothly driving home the message to the audience has only helped the cause furthermore. The award ceremony will be held on Dec 18th and expectedly attended by 3 lac individuals including many from the industry circle.
We congratulate Saravanan for his great debut and hope he comes out with good cinema in the future too.
