The Captain has written the story and screenplay apart from directing and acting the project. It is produced by his brother-in-law L K Sudeesh, currently the party’s youth wing president which has given rise to a moment of double delight for the activists of DMDK.
“After a long gap, our Captain’s film is getting released. Since the Assembly elections are round the corner, we will show our might on the day of the release” said on of the charged up activists of his party.
The maiden directorial venture of Vijayakanth is a super cop story which is a very territory for Vijayakanth.
Buzz is that it is a greatly localized version of the Liam Neeson starrer film ‘Taken’ with traces of the French film ‘Wasabi’ and the movie title is also inspired by the presiding deity Virudhagireeswarar at Vriddhachalam, which apparently is the Assembly constituency Vijayakanth represents.
DMDK fans at UAE offering prayers for the success of the film
‘Virudhagiri’ was shot extensively at posh locations in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Bangkok and neighboring countries.
What better way to spread your political message than a movie. That’s smart thinking. No wonder they call him Captain.Good luck to you.
