Director Subramaniam Siva turns hero with Ulogam

Subramaniam Siva

Remember director Subramaniam Siva who debuted as director with the Dhanush-Chhaya Singh starrer Thiruda Thirudi several years back. The film was one of the super-duper hits early in Dhanush’s career. Though it was a typical commercial entertainer, the songs and the director’s packaging of the sequences and the screenplay made the film a highly successful venture.

Siva then directed Jivva and Pooja in Pori in 2007 and followed it up with the Ameer-Madhumita starrer Yogi in 2009. His latest film as director was Seedan which released in February, 2011. The film, a remake of the 2002 Malayalam film Nandanam, starred Dhanush, Ananya and Unni Mukundan in lead roles and did an average business.

More than an year after that, Siva now turns hero with an upcoming film titled Ulogam. The film is touted as an action-packed venture. Besides playing the hero in the film, Siva has also taken on the additional responsibility of directing the film. Speaking about his new avatar, he said, “I’m now making Ulogam which is a pure action-based entertainer.

“In fact, I play the lead role in it. The film’s script is based on a popular novel penned by author Jayamohan who has also penned the dialogues in the film. We have completed the first schedule of the film’s shoot and are would be starting the second schedule by early next week,” informs Siva.
