Confusion still prevails as to who would be distributing and releasing director Bala’s upcoming film ‘Avan Ivan‘. Some time back, Sun Pictures bought the distribution rights from the producer Kalpathi Agoram, just prior to the elections. With the change of guard at the Secretariat, it was reported Agoram had a change of heart and decided to release the film on his own through his AGS Entertainment.
The film would be releasing on 17th June (next Friday) and as many as 180 cinema halls across the State have been booked for releasing the film, it is learnt. Cleared by the Censor Board with U/A certificate, the film stars Vishal, Aarya, Madhu Shalini, Janani and RK in significant roles and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film was to be released last Friday (3rd June) but for some reasons, its release has been delayed by a couple of weeks.
Reports now say that Sun Pictures have again volunteered to release the film and got the nod from Agoram. Meanwhile, Bala has quietly moved on and started the preparatory work for his next film, which has been tentatively titled as ‘Agangaaran‘. Sources close to the director, though, deny that the title of his next film has been finalized. It is also said that a newcomer would be debuting as hero in this film.
Prasad, who is pursuing his Polytechnic course at a Madurai College, has reportedly been chosen by Bala to play the lead role in ‘Agangaaran’. It is also said that Bala has entrusted the job of training the youngster in acting to a retired Professor from Pondicherry University’s Fine Arts Faculty. The report, though, is yet to be confirmed by Bala’s office sources!
In Bala’s case, nothing can be treated as ‘final’ until it is really final: he can change the title, the hero or even the script at the very last moment!
