Actor Dhanush is busy preparing to release his latest film 3 in its dubbed Hindi version. The film, which released in Tamil and Telugu versions more than 20 days ago, evoked mixed reaction from the fans of Dhanush and Shruti, the lead stars. Despite the widely popular Why this Kolaveri di…. number, the film has been running to almost empty houses in most of the halls in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
Reports emanating from Kollywood a couple of days back said that superstar Rajinikanth had ‘agreed’ to compensate the film’s Telugu distributor for the reportedly suffered by him due to the film’s no-show. Rajini, however, issued a signed statement on the issue yesterday clarifying that he never made any such offer to any distributor and had appealed to the distributors not to go by such reports.
Dhanuh has now said that it’s totally unacceptable to involve Rajini’s name in the business done by the film. “It’s unacceptable and it is morally wrong. I have to face all these rumours as I have married Rajini Sir’s daughter. I don’t know how to react to such rumours; in fact, no distributor faced losses by screening 3; even if such an eventuality arises, I think I can face such a scenario on my own.
“It is totally needless to involve Rajini Sir’s name in this; it’s my problem and I believe God has given me the means and material to deal with it. I’m planning to release the film’s Hindi version soon but would be editing the second-half on the lines of some ‘sound advice’ given by Kamal Haasan Sir. I’m highly confident that the film would be appealing to the Hindi audiences in a big way,” concludes Dhanush.
