Actress Dhansika is upbeat on the eve of release of her much-awaited Aravaan in which she is paired opposite Aadhi as the heroine. The film, directed by Vasanthabalan, has its script set in the 18th century and has aroused great expectations amid movie-goers who are aware of Balan’s style of film-making. The film also has Pasupathy, Bharath and Anjali in major roles.
Dhansika earlier appeared as one of the five heroines in ‘Jayam’ Ravi’s Peraanmai and played Arun Vijay’s heroine in Maanja Velu. As such, she looks forward with lots of hopt to the release of Aravaan which hits the screen today in Tamil Nadu and elsewhere.
Speaking on the eve of release of Aravaan, Dhansika appreciated sky-high the efforts of director Vasanthabalan in directing the film, which has been in the making for close to two years now. She said that for any actress, it’d be enougth to just star in a single film made by Balan to get a bagful of awards and appreciation from the critics. She also described Aravaan as a ‘serious’ film.
“I have done many challenging sequences in the film….Once, I jumped from a height of 30 feet….I also dived into the river which flows from the top of Hogenakkal hills….I didn’t use any ‘duplicate’ and instead performed all these things on my own…In fact, I love doing such challenging scripts. I’m sure the film would do well and further strengthen my position in Kollywood,” says Dhansika.
