Veteran Telugu actor Nageswara Rao would be making a ‘comeback’ of sorts in Tamil films after more than 40 yeas by making a ‘special appearance’ in director Mysskin’s upcoming film titled Mugamoodi. The film stars Jiiva and popular model Pooja Hegde in lead roles. With this film, Pooja would be debuting as heroine in Tamil films.
Nageswara Rao, the ‘Padmashri’ and ‘Padma Bhushan’ awardee, did a few films in Tamil in the fifties before migrating to Telugu films where he became a superstar later. His Devadoss opposite the inimitable Savithri where he played the eternal lover’s character remains etched in the memory of Tamil viewers as the film is considered the ultimate saga of a man who found and lost love in his life.
Though he is doing Telugu films occasionally, Rao hasn’t done any Tamil film all these years. Mysskin, though, has convinced the Telugu veteran to do a cameo in his upcoming film Mugamoodi. Rao’s son Nagarjuna is one of the leading actors in Telugu at present. Besides Rao, versatile Prakashraj is all set to play a significant role in the film. The film is produced by UTV Motion Pictures.
The film also marks the first time that Naren, who had till now been playing hero’s roles alone, would be playing villain in a Tamil film. In order to prepare himself for this role, Naren reportedly opted out of many Malayalam film offers which came his way. The film has music by Kay and is likely to go to floors on 30th November.
