Deepika Padukone, daughter of former badminton champion Prakash Padukone became an overnight sensation after she starred in Farah Khan directed super hit film Om Shanti Om opposite Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan.
Deepika continued to hit the headlines for her supposed love affairs with cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh and then finally she confirmed dating Ranbir Kapoor opposite whom she starred in Bachna Ae Haseeno and currently she is reportedly dating with Siddarth Mallya.
Deepika told reporters that she was happy over the fact that it’s the first time that an Indian is being presented on the international platform.
“I’m very happy after being voted as the world’s sexiest woman as I had never expected this. But I’m happier over the fact that it’s the first time that an Indian is being presented on the international platform so I’m very happy,” said Deepika.
And yes, she also speaks about the ‘Sid factor’ in her life. She says, “Siddharth is a great guy. Based on whatever little time I got to spend with him during the matches, I found him to be a wonderful person. But, the fact is that I am very much single!” And when to define ‘life’, she says, “The pursuit of happiness is how I define life. For me, life is all about being a good human being and a happy person.”
Deepika is currently filming for Break Ke Baad in Mauritius with co-star Imran Khan. Alongside, the adventure sports enthusiast is also learning scuba with an aim to be certified a deep sea diver. She aspires to learn sky diving next!
Deepika believes her pursuit of adventure sports could stand her in good stead in her professional career.
“I feel nothing you learn in life goes for a waste. Maybe I will get a film that involves me doing stunts in the ocean and then I will have no hesitation to take the plunge and do a better job than others,” Deepika told.
