Bollywood’s Deepika Padukone has revealed that she has been praying ‘regularly’ for the speedy recovery of superstar Rajinikanth. Deepika is one of the three heroines slated to work opposite Rajinikanth in his upcoming film ‘Rana’ which would be directed by K.S. Ravikumar. The film was launched at a glittering ceremony in Chennai on 29th April, the day when Rajini fell ill in the evening.
Rajini is presently undergoing treatment at SRMC hospital, Porur. Rumours started flowing that ‘Rana’ has been dropped in the backdrop of the superstar falling ill. Ravikumar, though, has clarified that ‘Rana’ is very much on and that the shooting schedule is likely to re-start with Rajini in the first week of July after the latter has taken considerable rest.
“I have heard a lot about superstar Rajinikanth. It was the shock of my life when I was informed that I had been selected as his heroine for ‘Rana’. In fact, I met him only for the first time on the day the film was launched in Chennai. I couldn’t stop feeling amazed at the energy he displayed on that day, despite feeling not so well.
“I haven’t yet started acting with Rajini and am looking forward to the day with great excitement. Meanwhile, I have been regularly praying to the Almighty for Rajini’s speedy recovery so that the shooting re-starts,” says Deepika.
