The unlimited love, affection and fascination Tamil youths and movie-goers reserve for actresses from across the Vindhyas is almost legendary in nature. Ever since the time of the late MGR when he introduced Radha Saluja in his Idhayakkani, North Indian actresses have always had successful careers in films, with the rare exception of a few who might not have clicked in Kollywood due to some reasons.
After the likes of Simran, Tamannaah, Hansika, Richa and Tapasee, it looks like it’s the time of Delhi-born Deeksha Seth to give sleepless nights to the millions of Tamil youths. Deeksha debuted in Tamil films as Vikram’s heroine in director Suseendhiran’s Rajapattai late last year. That the film turned out to be a dud at the box-office is different issue altogether; at least, the film ended up ‘giving’ Deeksha to Kollywood!
Within a short span of a few months’ time, Deeksha has reportedly made lot of friends in Kollywood and Tollywood. She debuted in Telugu films more than an year ago in a small but significant role in the super-hit Vedam opposite Allu Arjun. That role fetched her a few important films opposite top heroes. She is now said to be playing the lead role opposite Simbu in his upcoming film Vettai Mannan.
Born in Delhi and who had to study in cities like Delhi Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai, Deeksha ended up as one of the top ten finalists at the ‘Miss India’ contest a few years back. The bubbly Deeksha turned 22 yesterday, on the eve of Valentine’s Day. Here’s wishing her many more happy returns of the day and a successful stint in Tamil films for the next few years!
