Deeksha Seth can be easily spotted in a crowd; the natural glow on her face would give her away however hard she might try to hide it. An established name in Tollywood, the bubbly Deeksha debuted as heroine in Tamil films with Rajapattai opposite Vikram. The pre-release publicity and hype surrounding the film notwithstanding, the film which hit the screens towards the fag end of last year has turned out to be a losing preposition.
Deeksha, however, remains unfazed by the no-show of her debut film in Tamil. She takes heart from the fact that heroines from North have traditionally done very well in Tamil films. Some time back, she was signed up by the temperamental Simbu alias S.T.R. to play the lead role in his upcoming film Vettai Mannan. The film’s shooting has already begun and is proceeding at a brisk pace.
Newspaper reports quoted sources close to Simbu saying that Simbu has also roped in another hottie in Hansika to star in the film. After the news item surfaced in the press, Deeksha was asked by a scribe as to what was her role in the film: whether she plays the heroine or the second heroine. Deeksha first laughed at the question and the replied.
“I don’t know where from these doubts or rumours emanate. When I was signed up by Simbu, he told me that I’d be the main heroine. I don’t think the status has changed now. Hansika may be part of the cast but I’m unaware of it. Simbu promised that I’d be the female lead; it could be that he might have had second thoughts and cast Hansika to play a role in the film.
“Still, it won’t make me the second heroine as I was the one who first signed up the film. I would like to believe that I’m the heroine,” says Deeksha, who doesn’t want to address questions regarding her marriage. “I’m just 20 and am not likely to think about it at least for the next five years or so. Either way, till I meet a guy who looks and speaks like Shah Rukh Khan, I won’t think about marriage at all!” confesses Deeksha.
