Debutant director Marx, who is making his debut in Kollywood as a film-maker with an upcoming film titled Nagarvalam, has revealed that the film’s heroine got an assurance (in writing) from him that he won’t deviate from the original script narrated to her at the time of signing up the film.
Balaji of Kadhal Solla Vandhen fame plays the hero in Nagarvalam opposite newcomer Deekshitha Manickam. Speaking about his film, Marx said that without sounding clichéd, he only wanted to reveal that the crux of the film’s script is something which had never been attempted so far in Tamil films.
“Hero plays a lorry driver fetching drinking water to localities hit hard by water scarcity. He falls in love with the heroine in one of those places and the resultant issue has been dealt with in a nice manner. First-half of the film would be fun-filled and romantic while the second-half would see things getting a bit serious as it depicts incidents which take place in 5 hours from 12:00 midnight till 05:00 a.m.
“The heroine faces a particular crisis during this period and many established heroines refused to take up this character. Deekshitha of Perambur, Chennai, who was selected after audition test, got it in writing from me that I would film the script exactly in the same manner in which I narrated to her when she signed the offer to star in the film,” concludes Marx.
