Composer Deva who was popular for his ‘gana’ songs in the 90’s has come out with a new project, in his Kabbadi anthem. Now a grandfather, he has danced and sung a wonderful track dedicated to the game of Kabbadi. Deva has sung the track with his grand daughter Laya Varshini.
The lyrics for this Kabbadi anthem are penned by Vivekha, and go, “Sehwagu, Tendulkaru, Mahendra Dhoni… ellaarayum maranthuputtu konja naeram vaa nee… Kabadi aadudhappa mallikappoo maeni’. Deva says, “Even though there in a huge interest in sports like Cricket,Tennis and Hockey the game of Kabbadi is the only one requiring to sing and hold your breath. It benefits your lungs immensely and I am proud that girls do engage in the game in good numbers.” Directed by Citadel Jaishankar the music album is produced by Bhairava creations and Jayam Visions. The video CD was released in Erode by Tamil Nadu PWD minister KV Ramalingam, handed over to Satyam Rajasekar. It was attended by 4000 Kabaddi players from 16 districts in the State, making it an encouraging effort from the composer.
