Comedian Sathyan has starred in many films in the past including some super-hit films. In all these films, he has always remained a side-kick to senior and more established comedians like Vivek, Vadivelu, Santhanam and Karunas. For some reasons, though, he hadn’t been able to land up the role of the leading comedian in any film. It appears that there is finally a solution in sight to solve his problem.
Sathyan, a relative of veteran actor Sathyaraj, plays the ‘leading’ comedian in director Shankar’s upcoming film Nanban which is a multi-starrer having stars such as Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana, Sathyaraj, SJ Suriyah, Anuya and others. In Sathyan’s own words, he has landed up the biggest role of his ‘life time’. In Nanban, the remake of the Bollywood hit film 3 Idiots, Sathyan reprises the role essayed by Omi Vaidhya in the original version.
“I’m very proud to be part of a mega-project like Nanban and am really grateful to Shankar Sir for having given me a significant role. I also love to star along side the likes of Vijay and Jiiva. I had done Siva Manasula Sakthi with Jiiva and Azhagiya Tamizh Magan and Vettaikkaran with Vijay and share a great rapport with them. Vijay, who appears very calm, does have a panache for comic sequences.
“I’m amazed at Shankar’s simplicity after achieving so much in the industry in the past couple of decades. He’s truly a legend….I hope my career graph soars to an all-time high after this film’s release. I would once again like to thank Shankar for that,” says Sathyan in all his humility.
