Chennai Rhinos VS Telugu Warriors

After IPL, the Celebrity Cricket League is here. Four Film fraternities Kollywood, Tollywood, Sandalwood and Bollywood (Chennai Rhinos, Telugu Warriors, Karnataka Bulldozers and Mumbai Heroes) play together for a week-long spell of on-field action from today(June 4) till June 12, in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

The first match between Chennai Rhinos(led by Sarathkumar) and Telugu Warriors(led by Venkatesh) kicked off in Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru today at 3 PM. The 14-overs match was a pleasure to watch and Chennai Rhinos won the match after thumping Telugu Warriors by 21 runs in a thrilling summit clash on Saturday evening.

Electing to bat, Chennai Rhinos posted 134 for 6, thanks to Vishnu Vishal‘s unbeaten 69, and then restricted Telugu Warriors to 113 for six, to win their first match at the packed Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Shantanu Bhagyaraj took 4 wickets(Tarak,Akhil,Aadarsh and Venkatesh) to help Chennai win the match. Akhil(son of Nagarjuna) was the star in Telugu team by scoring 63 runs from 39 balls.

Vishnu Vishal was adjudged Man of the Match for his valuable 69 from 35 balls(not out). Shanthanu was awarded with Best Bowler of the match. Cheer Champion award went to Priyamani.

There are six league matches and one explosive finale. The next two matches will be played at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on June 5, –  Chennai Rhinos Vs. Karnataka Bulldozers  and Telugu Warriors Vs. Mumbai Heroes.

The finals will be held in Hyderabad on June 12.

Film personalities Shriya Saran, Priyamani, Radhika Sarathkumar and Sonia Agarwal watched the match.

  2. dis CCL is thugh money making business..it was quite entertaining to watch.. i dnt find any wrong in conducting CCL… if ppl in small screen.. can participte in reality dance and singing shows why not actors in circket.. nice innvoative idea eventhough der has been lot of money made behind this.. it is diiff to organize such sport.. but hopefully it dnt turn as gambling..
