Actress Chandini confesses she faced a big challenge in her second film titled ‘Padithurai’. The actress, who debuted as heroine opposite Shantanu in the film ‘Siddhu Plus Two’, has wrapped up the shooting schedule of ‘Padithurai’ in which she plays a typical Tirunelveli girl.
As such, she had to brush up her accent as per the demands of her character in the film. She did manage, though, successfully during the shooting of the film, thanks to the immense help by director Suka who incidentally hails from Tirunelveli. Trouble started brewing when she had to sit for the dubbing of the film a couple of months after the shooting.
After the shooting was over, she went back to her college to pursue her studies which meant that she lost whatever ‘touch’ she had with the Tirunelveli accent she uttered during the shooting. For her character of a strong woman with lots of self-belief, she had to get the ‘accent’ right for the second time in less then three months.
“Though I can speak fluently in Tamil, getting the Tirunelveli accent right was quite a difficult task for me. I worked hard to get it right and hope my work would impress movie-goers,” smiles Chandini.
