Actress Hansika Motwani, the latest ‘dreamgirl’ of Tamil youths, has gone on record saying that the idea of ‘building’ a temple for an(y) actress is simply wrong. “Actresses are also humans; they shouldn’t be elevated to the level of a Goddess which is nothing but a wrong notion. Enough if the fans love the actresses and continue to patronize them,” says Hansika.
Hanskia, who has a handful of films both in Tamil and Telugu, met the press-persons recently and spoke about many issues. The actress recently turned 20 and celebrated it by bringing to 20 the number of kids she has adopted. All of them are being brought up in Mumbai. Many scribes felt that at her age, surely, what she has been doing was a phenomenal gesture of humanitarianism.
“My present assignments in Tamil include ‘Oru Kal Oru Kannadi’ (OKOK) opposite Udhayanidhi and ‘Velayudham’ opposite Vijay. I have done half-a-dozen films in Telugu as well. My roles in both ‘Velayudham’ and ‘OKOK’ are powerful ones. I’m aware of the fact the people call me as ‘Junior Khushboo’ and am happy about that.
“Khushboo Madam spoke to me and advised me to choose appropriate roles. I’m ready to star opposite newcomers provided the script is good. My dream role is to play the lead role in a Maniratnam film. Starring in swim-wear in films or locking lips on-screen with the hero are completely ruled out. I don’t party either; besides acting, I pump it out at the gym and love to spend time at my house during my leisure hours.
“I loved working with Genelia in Velayudham. We didn’t have any misunderstanding during the making of the film and in fact became good friends. Superstar Rajinikanth is one of my favourite heroes and I’d love to do a film opposite him,” said Hansika and adds that she is learning Tamil fast and would soon start dubbing in her own voice for her role(s) in films.
