Superstar Rajinikanth is one star whose fan base cuts across the linguistic and territorial border between the States as he has fans all over the country and abroad. As such, it’s no wonder that his friends and well-wishers and admirers from Bollywood are praying to the Almighty to bring him back into action as soon as possible.
Bollywood’s ‘superstar of the millennium’ and Rajini’s close friend, Amitabh Bachchan, has expressed confidence that Rajini would be back to normalcy soon. “It is an odd feeling to know that Rajini is fighting an illness; I wish he gets over his illness soon,” says Amitabh, popularly known as Big ‘B’.
Veteran Dharmendra, who starred alongside Amitabh Bachchan in the legendary ‘Sholay’, says he felt ‘worried’ when he heard that Rajini had been admitted to the hospital. The 75-year old star, the first ‘action hero’ of Hindi cinema, said he spoke to Rajini some time back and said he was praying to the God for the latter’s speedy recovery.
Dharmendra’s younger son and Bollywood actor Bobby Deol has said that Bollywood has always had ‘special feelings’ for Rajini and added that Rajini was not only a great actor but a ‘wonderful human being’. “As far as my knowledge is concerned, almost everybody in Mumbai is praying for his early recover; I’m sure it would happen soon,” he said.
Priyanka Chopra, who had done a solitary Tamil film ‘Thamizhan’ opposite Vijay, joined the bandwagon of stars praying for superstar Rajini’s recovery from illness and said she wished Rajini the best. Arshaw Warsi, another actor of immense potential, adds that the whole country and the cinema industry badly needed a star of Rajini’s stature and said he was praying to the God for the latter’s return to normal health.
