Popular South Indian actor Sarathkumar has been advised bed rest for a month by his doctors, after he was injured on Monday on the sets of Kannada film Sarathi, directed by K.S. Selvaraj with Kannada actor Darshan and Sneha in prominent roles.
Veteran director K Balachander, Kamal Haasan, Union Minister Nepolean and South Indian Film Artistes Association secretary Radha Ravi among others called on Sarath Kumar at his residence in Chennai and enquired about his health.
Sarathkumar suffered a hip fracture while performing a daring action scene near Puducherry. According to reports, the actor was thrown off a horse and was immediately admitted to a private hospital.
The president of South Indian Film Artistes Association was later shifted to a Chennai hospital. “There is nothing to worry about his health condition. He will be perfectly alright soon,” a hospital source said. He has been advised by doctors to be on rest for at least three weeks.
On hearing the news, his peers and well wishers have been calling and visiting Sarath, wishing him a speedy recovery. “Even some top politicians enquired about the health condition of the All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi president,” sources say.
Meanwhile, the shooting schedules of ‘Sarathi’ and the actor’s ambitious K S Selvaraj directed ‘Vidiyal’ have now been postponed. ‘Vidiyal’, which has Sneha opposite Sarath for the first time, is jointly produced by Giriguja Films International Pvt Ltd and RRR Movies, a banner floated by Sarath.
