Ace director Bala is busy with the post-production work of his upcoming venture ‘Avan Ivan’ which stars actors Arya and Vishal together for the first time. A known perfectionist, Bala is one of the few directors in Kollywood who ensure that even the minutest of things is attended to perfectly.
While the dubbing session was on, Bala felt that the ‘voice’ which dubbed for actress Madhu Shalini didn’t ‘match’ the actress’ on-screen persona. Instead of getting another dubbing artiste to dub for Madhu, Bala asked Madhu to brush up her Tamil dialect and dub for her character in her own voice.
Least did Madhu expect such a ‘bomb’ from Bala. Knowing how determined Bala can be, she could neither say an ‘yes’ nor a ‘no’ immediately. Despite her apparent ‘unfamiliarity’ with the language, Shalini is taking ‘crash course’ on how to spell and pronounce Tamil words and is running against time to complete her dubbing portion.
“When Bala Sir tells you to dub for yourself, you have got no other ‘go’ but to follow suit. Thankfully, I’m getting immense help and cooperation from him and others during the dubbing session. I’m confident that I have been doing a better job. Still, it’s the audience who are the ultimate judges to pass the verdict,” laughs Madhu Shalini and adds dubbing also helps her improve upon whatever acting credentials she already possesses.
Is it so?
