The crew of Avargalum Ivargalum had a rattling experience during the shoot of the movie. While shooting a big wave washed the sands beneath there feet and took them deep with a lash. The victims included 4 of the crew members.
Others who witnessed the event stood gaping and ensued on a frantic search for the washed away victims. But to their relief another a “blessed wave” washed the drowned to the shore banging them to the rocks. Soon help arrived as fishermen and crew rushed to the spot as those struggling were trapped among the rocks.
The shooting for the flick was called off as the team abandoned the spot.
Recalling the incident Director Veerapandian said “There was a board warning that not to venture into the sea because it was a dangerous area. Since the sea was not rough we shot there. The fisherman folks said that it is very difficult to survive if anyone gets stuck up in these rocks because they are very deep. I am still shivering if I think of the incident.”
Well that’s a narrow escape and a lesson well learnt we must say.
