Not the one to rest on his laurels for long, director Bala, the national award winner had started the preparatory work for his next film featuring Atharva, son of the late actor Murali, in the lead role. Here is the latest updates on the film.
The film has been tentatively titled as ‘Eriyum Thanal’ (Fire Burning). Interestingly, it is the title of the Malayalam novel on which the film is inspired from. Bala has decided to opt for the same title because he felt that it was the right one for his film. Eriyum Thanal also sees the collaboration of Bala and GV Prakash for the first time and the musician took it as an honor to work with him.
The novel deals with the trials and tribulations that a couple undergoes to raise their son and Atharva is reported to play the son’s role.
Atharva debuted as hero with last year’s Baana Kathadi. Ironically enough, his debut film turned out to be the last film of his father and actor Murali. Bala had reportedly told him not to accept any new film after wrapping up his Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal which is under production.
Bala has the reputation of making stars out of actors and usually prefer to choose those actors whom he believes would follow his instructions in a non-confrontational manner. Gota chance working under Bala, it appears that Atharva has ‘lady luck’ smiling on him!
Other cast and crew of the film would be announced by Bala himself after some time and Eriyum Thanal is expected to go on floors in December.
