Pro-Eelam supporters from Tamil Nadu held a black flag demonstration against Asin in Mettupalayam, to condemn her Srilanka Visit despite a ban imposed by the the South Indian Film Actors Association.
The agitators started protesting against the actress when she reached the shooting spot of Vijay’s ‘Kavalan’ movie on Sunday. The protestors also raised slogans that Asin, should not act in Tamil films in future, they said.
They also alleged that in spite of Tamil film associations had urged its members to boycott Sri Lanka, the actress took part in movie’s shoot in the island nation, visited the war-ravaged region of Jaffna, and enjoyed the company of anti-Tamil Sinhala politicians.
Four persons were arrested by the police and later released in the evening.
It may be recalled the Kollywood associations were miffed over Asin shooting in Sri Lanka in defiance of their dictum and that they were considering banning her future films. No one knows how Asin could cleverly manage to check-mate all of them.
Now the shooting of the film ‘Kaavalan’ is almost complete and still no ‘action’ appears to be emerging from the Nadigar Sangam, which appears to have complete forgotten that action is to be initiated against the actress for having gone to Lanka violating the blanket ban on artistes not to visit the Island nation.
