Indian Premier League (IPL) is reaching each and every corner of our country. Days have come where film stars want some other means to reach every home. Recently we heard a news that Ramya would be the brand ambassador for the Bangalore team. Now its our South Indian queen Asin getting ready to get in the fray. Asin, who, if reports are to be believed, would promote the newly formed Kochi IPL team. Kochi IPL cricket team is jointly owned by Venugopal, Shailendra Gaikwad and Shashi Tharoor, Minister of State for External Affairs, who’s also an MP from Trivandrum.
It is said that since the actress, who is one of the hot and happening stars of Bollywood, hails from Kerala, organisers of the Kochi team found her a right choice to make their team familiar with cricket lovers all over India.
“Following this, they approached the actress and finally convinced her to be part of the promotional events planned for the cricket team, which will take the field for the next season, in 2011,” reports added.
Meanwhile, Asin’s father Joseph Thottumkal too was quoted as saying that he did not want to comment whether his daughter was roped in or not by the cricket team, since the announcement should come from the team owners.
