The trend of multi-starrer films with more than one hero starring them appears to have been ‘borrowed’ from Bollywood by our own Kollywood. In the past, Tamil films most probably would have either solo hero or at the most two heroes and not more than that. The trend is surely changing now, in tune with the changing times.
Bala’s ‘Avan Ivan‘, which is releasing today and director Shankar’s ‘Nanban’ have been the recent multi-starrers. While ‘Avan Ivan’ has actors Vishal and Aarya in equal roles, ‘Nanban’ has Vijay, Jiiva and Srikanth in significant roles besides director-actor SJ Suriyah.
Now comes the news about the launch of the film which would also have a trio of heroes in Aarya, Aadhi and Narain. The film has been titled as ‘Kadavul Paadhi Mirugam Paadhi‘ (KPMP). Aarya has been having a successful one-and-a-half years with hits such as ‘Madarasapattinam’ and ‘Baas Engira Baskaran’ to his credit. He could also have a super-hit in the waiting in ‘Avan Ivan’.
‘KPMP’ is directed by debutant director Rajmohan. The newcomer managed to convince the three young heroes as they liked his script very much and soon after hearing the script, gave their consent to star in the multi-starrer. The film, which is being made on an experimental basis, won’t have any actress as heroine as such.
