We would like to introduce you to AR Rahman’s International Band – Super Heavy. The name Super Heavy was inspired by the phenom – Muhammad Ali. The all star group of Super Heavy comprises of Mick Jagger – lead vocalist of classic rock band Rolling Stones, Dave Stewart – founder of Eurythmics , world renowned vocalist Joss Stone , Damian Marley – son of legendary reggae sensation Bob Marley and last but not the least the man himself from ‘Namma’ Chennai A.R. Rahman.
The bands very first single titled “Miracle Worker” will be released by Universal records this July 7th .On the very first day almost 26 songs were written my the members of Super Heavy with creative juices flowing out from various corners of the world across LA, France, Turkey, Miami, the Caribbean and Chennai in India. The group promises to bring a whole new dimension to music and is said to be a truly global project on a whole. One of the surprises for fans includes Mick Jagger singing in Urdu to the tunes of ‘Satyameva Jayate’ composed by Rahman, but we will have to wait for that one.
