Isai Puyal AR Rahman might have cut down on his Kollywood projects but the Oscar winner has his own reasons to do so. He has been busy with his international project with his band Super Heavy. The big star band Super Heavy consisting of Mick Jagger, Dave Stewart, Joss Stone and Bob Marley’s son-Damian Marley has now released their second single titled ‘Satyameva Jayathe’ under the Universal Label, just within a week of Independence Day. This new song is an all-in-all Rahmanesque composition has his Super Heavy friends joining in with full energy. We are told, Rahman realized his dream composing Satyameva Jayathe which also has Rock and Roll icon and ‘Rolling Stone’ front man Mick Jagger crooning to some Sanskrit lyrics. The single goes on air today across radio stations
Rahmaniacs will remember his phenomenal 1997 studio release Vande Mataram that pretty much summed up what it feels to be under the ‘Rahmania spell’. The album broke all records sitting right on top for the largest selling Indian non-film album.(Now we are pretty much sure who the largest selling Indian composer is …right?). Needless to say this will be another ‘sweet’ release from the man running his magical fingers.
Jai Ho! Rahman for taking Indian music to the global platform.
