Twin-Oscar award winner A.R. Rahman has added one more feather to his illustrious cap by bagging the coveted ‘Sound Track’ award at Belgium. Winning awards and prizes at international fora isn’t something new to Rahman yet the humble achiever has the habit of treating each and every award as it it’s his first one!
Rahman’s work in the film 127 Hours has won him the ‘Public Choice’ award at the World Soundtrack Academy awards function for the year 2011 held in Belgium recently. It may also be noted that the twin-Oscar award winner, who won them for his work in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire some time back, was also nominated for another Oscar awards for his music in 127 Hours this year but couldn’t get it this time around.
As if to compensate for losing out on the Oscars, Rahman has been awarded the ‘Public Choice’ award at Belgium’s World Sound Track Academy awards. The ace musician, who is a regular on many social networking sites, has revealed this in his latest posting. “I’m thankful to the World Sound Trace Academy for honouring me with the award,” Rahman has written on his Facebook account.
Isn’t our duty to congratulate the music wizard?
