Music wizard A.R. Rahman released the audio of director Vasanthabalan’s upcoming film Aravaan at Chennai yesterday. The event was held at the auditorium of the Anna Centenary Library at Kotturpuram. The film, produced by T. Siva’s Amma Creations, also marks the debut as music director of noted playback singer Karthick.
The lead cast of the film including Aadhi, Dhansika, Bharath, Pasupathi and Archana Kavi took part at the event. Rahman, who was taking part at the event despite a pressing engagement to leave abroad, released the cassettes and CDs of the film which was accepted by ace director Maniratnam. Siva welcomed the gathering and appreciated the work of the actors/actresses and the crew.
The event witnessed the screening of the songs penned by lyricists Muthukumar and Vivega besides the making of the songs and the trailer which was appreciated by the audience. Karthick, who made his singing debut in Rahman’s film a few years back, thanked Rahman for having come all the way to release the audio of the film.
Speaking on the occasion, Rahman said that “Tamil audiences are intelligent enough to judge the pulse of the film by just watching its trailer. I’m sure Aravaan would enjoy a successful run of more than 100 days. I haven’t seen many Tamil films in the past few years; still, I love the visuals which were screened here. Karthick’s music is lovable and the picturization of the songs is nice!”
When his turn to speak came, Maniratnam said that the fact that the Tamil film industry was full of artistes with amazing talents was something that all of us could feel proud of. “I’d like to congratulate all those who have worked in the film,” he said.
