Choreographer-actor-director Raghava Lawrence is now directing a bilingual film titled ‘Kanchana’, a sequel of his first directorial venture in Tamil ‘Muni’. Raghava Lawrence who has won the hearts of many with his philanthropic activities as well is hopeful that the movie would be received well by the audience.
Lawrence says, “After much deliberation, Kanchana has gone on the floors. I’ve put in a lot of groundwork and I’m happy to have started work on the project finally. It is no doubt a sequel. But Kanchana will be entirely different from Muni and even more entertaining.”
Earlier, there were reports that Anushka will be playing the female lead in the film. But, Lawrence says Anushka is not part of the film.
Speaking out the casting he reveals, “Though Raj Kiran sir will not be there, I have retained most stars of Muni in ‘Kanchana’. Lakshmi Rai has been roped in to play an important role”.
Lakshmi Rai had earlier paired up opposite Raghava Lawrence in ‘Irumbukottai Murattu Singam’ and for an item number in Kalaignar’s ‘Penn Singam’.
Kanchana also has a new value addition now. He is Sarath Kumar, who is of late concentrating on roles with a difference.
