If reports are to be believed, then actress Anushka might have managed to bag what can be termed as the ‘biggest’ movie of her career in Tamil films. The lovely and lanky Anushka, who is basking in the glory of the positive feedback for her role as an advocate in Vikram’s ‘Deiva Thirumagal’, has landed up a biggie. She has been roped in by ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan to pair up opposite him in his upcoming film ‘Viswaroopam’.
A few months back, when Kamal Haasan announced the launch of the film, it was said that Bollywood’s Sonakshi Sinha would be the heroine opposite the film and that it would be directed by Selvaraghavan. However, Selvaa pulled out of the film on his own citing reasons of ‘misunderstanding’ between him and Kamal. Sonakshi, on the other hand, opted out of the film as she felt that her call-sheet dates were being ‘wasted’.
Anushka’s performance in her latest Tamil film ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ is said to have clinched the issue in her favour. It is said that the ‘Ulaganayagan’ was mighty impressed by the leggy lass’ acting and immediately decided to cast her as heroine opposite him in the film. Interestingly enough, Kamal Haasan would be directing the film, which is likely to go to the floors from today.
As the film is likely to be a bilingual affair to be made in Tamil and Hindi, Kamal obviously wanted to rope in some Bollywood stars. Rahul Bose, one of the finest actors in Bollywood, has been the latest addition to the film’s cast. Unconfirmed reports say that the film’s budget is likely to be in the region of Rs.50-75 crores and that that a leading Telugu producer has consented to produce the film.
Whether it’s produced by a Hyderabad-based producer or by Kamal’s own production house Rajkamal International would be known in the coming days.
