‘Madarasapattinam’, a period film set in the 1940s, is about the love story between a “Madrasi” boy and an English madame.The period film, directed by Vijay of ‘Poi Solla Porom’ fame, stars Arya and former Miss Teen world Amy Jackson in the lead. Nassar and Kochin Haneefa are among the supporting cast.Our sources say that the film has almost been completed and will hit the screens on April 14. Immense pain has been taken by the filmmakers to recreate the Madras of old. Vijay says, “You will see the Madras of old on screen… boats making their way in Buckingham Canal, a Mount Road full of greenery.”Nirav Shah is the cameraman while G V Prakash has scored the music.
Directed by A. L. Vijay had earlier directed hits like Kireedam (2007) and Poi Solla Porom (2008), hence expectation meter is high.
