Amy Jackson all set for her Malayalam debut

Amy Jackson

Amy Jackson debuted as heroine in Tamil films with last year’s critically acclaimed and successful ‘Madarasapattinam’ opposite Aarya. The film, which was directed by Vijay, received rave reviews for its eye-catching visuals of the ‘old Chennai’ and for the performances by its lead actors. Amy’s expressions and her acting prowess didn’t go unnoticed.

She now plays the heroine in the Hindi version of ‘Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya’ opposite Prateik Babbar. She plays the role essayed by Trisha in the Tamil version. Both the Tamil and Hindi versions are directed by Gautham Menon. The British beauty is now all set to thrill Malayalam audience as she has signed her first-ever Malayalam film.

Titled ‘Spanish Masala’, the film has Dileep as hero while Bopan plays the second hero. Lal Jose, the director of the film, had been hunting for a Spanish girl or an actress with ‘Spanish’ looks when he spotted Amy Jackson. The moment he saw her, he decided that she was what he had in mind for the role of the Spanish girl in his film.

Amy, though, was apprehensive prior to taking up the offer. Besides the language barrier, she was afraid she won’t be able to concentrate her energies in three languages in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. A huge sum as fee appears to have been the clinching factor which made her sign along the dotted lines.
