Asianet 2011 Film Awards

AsiaNet, the popular Malayalam television channel, annually presents ‘AsiaNet’ awards recognizing excellence in various fields of the Malayalam film industry. This year’s function to give the awards was held on Sunday at Cochin, in which filmstars from across the country including Bollywood’s Amitabh Bachchan, Mollywood’s Mohanlal and Mammooty and Kollywood’s Vijay participated as special guests.

Actress Nayantara, in the eye of a storm and facing criticism from within and outside Kollywood for having ‘distanced’ choreographer-actor-director Prabhudeva from his wife of 15 years, finally has something to cheer about. The actress has now bagged  the ‘best actress’ award for her role in the Malayalam film ‘Bodyguard’.

Nayanthara was at her dazzling best in an ‘Anarkali’ outfit. Howsoever she kept mum during the entire event avoiding any interaction with whosoever was present at the function. The actress received the Best Actress award for her act in Malayalam flick Bodyguard -of which Kaavalan is a remake. Now what made the award special was it being presented to Nayanthara by none other than heroVijay himself.

The lady kept it as a quick affair as she posed for some photos and made a hurried exit, even when the anchor of the event asked her to say a few words to the audience, she simply said ‘Thanks’ and alighted from the stage. Dileep,  the hero of  ‘Bodyguard’, won the ‘best actor’ award.

Kollywoods Mass hero Vijay won the ‘audience’s choice’ award and was presented the memento by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh was presented the Life time achievement Award.

  1. I hate both mammooty & mohanlal..both are head weighted actors..they wont encourage or support the other actors/actress to shine..cunning & cruel pple..

  2. in olden days “its prestige to give respect to a woman in functions” but now a days they give 1st respect to real life sluts.

why they need to address nayanthara’s name in headlines???

  3. Amitab unmaileye super. Enga poanalum he wins. Keralava irnthalum sari UK’va irnthalum sari. I once saw  how a BBC journalist a sexy middle aged woman admired him when interviewing him. When Shah Ruk was here most of the guys in the program looked better than him.

  4. that’s freaking gay how you compared a “SLUTTY” girl with a quiet girl…slutty isn’t necessarily always interesting, and seriously…is this where the world is leading to… i think u are just freaking moron who needs to get a life and stop watching porn, u lazy pedophile

  5. Hey I didn’t mean promicuity but just someone who is not timid to go out to attract men say someone likes discotheque or a pub for evening not temple. Why are you so disturbed?
