Actress Amala Paul has been the flavour of the season in Kollywood. The actress followed up her last year’s stunning performance in Prabhu Solomon’s award-winning ‘Mynaa’ with a mildly emotional but powerful character in Vijay’s ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ this year. Both these films have given some definite hints to the viewers as to what Amala is capable of.
The actress is presently playing the lead role opposite the lanky Atharva (son of the late actor Murali) in ‘Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal’ (MUK). Talking about her role in MUK, Amala says that she is essaying another powerful character in the film and adds that it won’t be surprising if the film garners more fame to her name than what ‘Mynaa’ did last year.
Amala has been very choosy about her roles and is definitely not going on a signing spree. She has just committed to her debut film in neighbouring Tollywood. In Tamil, though, she has Lingusamy’s multi-starrer ‘Vettai’ where she plays Sameera’s sister and pairs up opposite Aarya. In MUK, she plays an NRI who returns to her home in Bangalore.
“At this stage, it won’t be prudent on my part to reveal anything about the script. Yet, I can sense that the character I play in the film is almost a ‘dream’ role for me. I’m sure this film would give me more accolades and fame than what my role in Mynaa did. I’m enjoying each and every moment of the shooting schedule and am proud to be part of such a fantastic film,” concludes Amala.
We would sure await the film’s release to check her version!
